22 ROYAL CIRCUS EDINBURGH
22 ROYAL CIRCUS EDINBURGH
Quiet Bed and Breakfast in Central Edinburgh
Royal Circus, two semi-circular crescents surrounding gardens, was designed in 1823 by possibly the greatest of Edinburgh's neo-classical architects, William Playfair. Kirsty MacGregor's family home at Number 22 is on the North side facing South, and she has set aside two lower-ground floor bedrooms and bathrooms for bed and breakfast guests with a separate entrance accessible via original stone steps and a small courtyard.
Just round the corner is Stockbridge where you can find the best artisan cheese shop in Scotland, Mellis. All around are friendly pubs, excellent restaurants and cafés, and the walk (-plenty of buses too-) up to Princes Street is 8 minutes of sheer delight - passing through the beautifully proportioned and detailed classical architecture of the Georgian "New Town", a World Heritage Site.
